Our curriculum is designed to give every child a rich, engaging, and well-rounded education. We want learners to enjoy learning, feel confident, and develop the knowledge and skills they need for future success. Our approach is built on four key principles:

Children regularly revisit key learning so they remember important ideas long-term. Daily retrieval tasks and low-stakes quizzes help knowledge 'stick.'

Lessons build on what children have already learned, ensuring new skills make sense and grow over time.

Core skills like phonics, arithmetic, and times tables are practiced daily so children can use them quickly and confidently.

All children are encouraged to be curious, resilient, and ambitious. Activities are designed to stretch thinking and encourage independent learning.

Our curriculum is built on a strong foundation of values that nurture the whole child. We encourage pupils to be unique, grateful, honest, kind and brave, and these values are woven through every aspect of their learning journey.

These values work hand‑in‑hand with our curriculum aspirations for children to aspire, believe and contribute.
They help us create learners who:

  • Aspire to achieve their very best, showing bravery, ambition and pride in their individuality.
  • Believe in themselves and others, developing confidence, honesty and gratitude as they grow.
  • Contribute positively to school and community life, demonstrating kindness, teamwork and a commitment to doing what is right.

Together, our values and aspirations shape a curriculum that supports children not only academically, but personally and socially — preparing them to excel both now and in the future.

We know that some families prefer an overview, while others like a little more detail.

  • If you'd like to see what your child is learning this half term - along with simple ways you can support learning at home - please visit our class pages.
  • If you'd like a deeper look at how each subject is planned and taught across the school, our full curriculum detail section provides comprehensive information.
  • If you would like more information about the curriculum, please contact the main school office to arrange a meeting with our Head Of School, Claire Austin.

Remote Learning

In the event that the school needs to close for an extended period, we are committed to ensuring that learning continues for all pupils. Remote learning will be provided online, and full details of the arrangements — including platforms to be used, resources available, and expectations for pupils — will be shared with parents and carers at the time of closure.

The school will communicate all requirements through our usual channels. Our aim is to provide continuity of education and support for all children throughout any period of remote learning.

If a closure becomes necessary, please check for updates regularly. Further guidance will be issued promptly to help families access and engage with remote learning successfully.
